The current Divorce Law Aid public path is free, browser-local, and deterministic. No outside AI, OCR, remote document processor, paid storage provider, or payment checkout is active.

The public free core cannot silently regress

This is a binding product floor that remains in effect after the Monday target unless the owner expressly supersedes it through a scoped decision, impact review, user notice, testing, and a safe reversal plan.

Current technical truth

No paid provider is being used

No account is required for current public tools.
No current tool sends entered family information to an AI company.
No current tool meters AI tokens, OCR pages, storage, or processing units.
No current public action creates a charge, subscription, or auto-renewal.

Future high-cost continuation

A charge may be offered only after a reasonable free allowance and separate acceptance.

A future high-cost AI, OCR, document-processing, or storage service may offer an optional cost-recovery continuation only after the exact capability, provider, data flow, security, privacy, deletion, support, allowance, unit, reset period, price, taxes, consent, receipt, failure/refund, spending control, non-AI fallback, and rollback have been approved and tested.

Before consent

Show the free allowance and when it resets.
Show the exact price and what unit is being purchased.
Explain the expected result and material limits.
Offer a useful non-AI or lower-cost path.

After consent

Issue a receipt and visible usage record.
Do not charge for a failed operation with no accepted result.
Honor spending caps, cancellation, deletion, and refund rules.
Pause safely when the provider or central payment system is unavailable.

No allowance or price is invented here: because no high-cost service is selected or active, its exact free allowance and cost-recovery price remain an owner/central-commercial decision for a future separately accepted release.

Fair-use and abuse controls must not become hidden pricing

Reasonable technical protections may prevent automated scraping, denial-of-service activity, unsafe uploads, or abuse. They must be disclosed where material, must preserve safety and basic starting access, and must not silently turn a free public journey into a paid-only service.

Protected free paths

Emergency, official-resource, profile search, correction/removal, privacy/deletion, support, and basic non-AI starting paths cannot be conditioned on high-cost-service payment.
